I have not written about my trip to London because I thought there was too much to say and I didn't know how to approach it. But I decided to tackle it in a way in which readers could get an idea of what there is to do and how to afford it. During my backpacking trip this past summer I only got to visit London for two days! For reasons including a time zone change and an emergency stay in the Paris airport for a night, our time in England got cut short. Upon returning home I knew that I wanted to go back to London and try to recover everything that I had missed. So while working my ass off and saving for the $800 plane ticket (not too bad if you plan far ... read more

On the way home from our camping trip to Allegheny National Forest, we pulled off at a rest area for the usual bathroom break and snack re-stock. Rest stops like these always always have one of those twirly stands with pamphlets for other attractions in the area. While I was waiting for everyone else...I browsed the pamphlets and grabbed one that really stood out to me labeled BOOKS!! It turned out to be an advertisement for a book store in Harrisburg called Midtown Scholar. http://www.midtownscholar.com/ Later on I looked it up and saw pictures and decided that I HAD to make a trip there. The place sells used and rare books....like...a shit load of them. It's a pretty huge building for a book store and used to be an old theater so it looks pretty neat ... read more

I have been wanting to go to Grounds for Sculpture forever and today I finally got the chance! I was expecting to see some awesome sculptures, but I wasn't expecting the grounds to be so beautiful. The layout of the sight was incredible and Josh and I felt little kids running around the place eager to see what would be around the next corner or what secret passage ways we would find. We walked around for two hours and still didn't find all of the sculptures... Whether you want to go to really learn about the sculptures and take the art seriously....or just go for a little adventure and funny pictures...the place is worth the trip! It's in Hamilton New Jersey about 45 minutes away from Bucks County. And admission is only $12 bucks! Have fun. ... read more

Today was a pretty bittersweet day. My trip is almost over. It was way too short, but it’s all I could afford this year. I still had one day left and I intended to make the most of it. Last night, I commented how my hotel could serve as the set for a 70s horror movie. Well, when I went to settle my account this morning, I found a police cruiser parked in front of the entryway. I have no idea why it was there, because I didn’t ask. I quickly paid my bill and got out of there. First thing, I needed some food. That’s surprisingly hard on a Sunday in King of Prussia, which is all office parks. What it does have is the Court and Plaza of King of Prussia, the largest mall ... read more

Last day before MEXICO!!!! Yaaaaaaa! Philly has been a great trip. I ran up the stairs that ROCKY ran up in Rocky I. Pretty funny. We stayed at our good friends John and Debbie, we met in Greece. We are so priveliged to have such wonderful friends. They have looked after us so well! John works at Outback Steakhouse, so we have eaten there a couple times for free! Nice. I've been hanging out with their sons Maxx 15 and Sam 13 and its been fun. Took them bowling with their friends, been playing Xbox and Wii. and Ping pong. Two great kids. We're leaving Bruce here while we hit Mexico for couple weeks. Doylestown is a beautiful town. ( 1 hr north of Philly )where we are staying. Nice, open country. Lots of wildlife. Deer, ... read more

We had a Fri night in and got on it!

It was touring outside of Philly day. I had my eyes on this small town that appeared to be a good day trip, Doylestown, about 40 min-drive NW of Philly. What drew me here was historical buildings and art galleries. We visited Mercer museum first. The building was essentially concrete entirely with exception to certain parts. The museum was filled with gazillion things invented by Mercer(not sure if it was solely his collection). The museum was built to be a place where Mercer could showcase his invention to later generations. He really taught ahead of time and wanted to make sure people who came after him get to see things that were created in the past. Most of the stuff here were household items, transportation, and miscellaneous things. We also booked the tour at Font Hill ... read more
