Leaving FlagstaffLeaving FlagstaffLeaving Flagstaff

The truck is super weighted down and most of our friends are laughing and shaking their heads because it doesn't look like it will get 5 miles down the road.
Here are a few pictures from the beginning of our road trip all the way to Seattle to surprise Sam's old roomate Alica. Leaving AZ was a little sad, but it was fun to finally get on the road and stop taliking about it. The drive through Utah was pretty. We drove through the tunnel in Zion and went for a little hike. We stayed on the interstate through southern Idaho (super boring drive) and finally got on a scenic highway through Oregan. It was amazing, but of course pictures never do it justice. We camped on the Oregan coast before ariving in Seattle. We had to sneak into Seattle so as not to ruin the surprise for Alica and we went out to see the famous Seattle band scene. Pictures to come.

We camped out in Lee's Ferry the first night. This is the last of the Arizona big sky views we'll see for a while.

Oregan was Beautiful! We were surprised at the similar high desert climate of Flagstaff before we crossed the Cascades. Yes, Rodney (the new name for Sam's truck) actually made it across a major mountain range. Yeehaw!

We found a graet campsite and went for a run on the beach in the morning. We decided that our summer sleeping bags are no longer sufficient for camping as we keep travelling north.

Hey you crazy kids, just wanted to drop a little hello. I'm not sure how these high tech blogs work, but hopefully you will get this. Pat and I just stopped by the library and I was so excited to see this in the old in-box. It looks like you are on your way to great adventure. Keep the pictures and updates coming. Alaska is so amazing....I am very happy for you both to be experiencing. Hope Oregon and Washington treated you well, as they are two of my favorite states. Wish you well. Peace out Yo's, Brenna And Pat

Hello
I sure enjoy your blog, but you are crazy to pee where bears lurk. It's bad enough living in the desert with scorpions, rattlesnakes and Al. Please take extra good care of yourselves.
