Eureka Motel Cat
We had a morning visit by a roving cat - he visited us in our room Day 8 already! Another sunny day - we have really lucked out with the weather. Although, the coast was cool and windy all day - I finally had to plug in the heated vest!
The day started with breakfast at Samoa Cookhouse on Samoa Island. We ate there last year as well and it is a very neat place - the actual cookhouse for the Samoa Logging Co. many years ago. It is a fixed price and you eat what they serve - today was french toast, scrambled eggs and sausage. Delicious and great atmosphere. We left Eureka around 9:00am and worked our way up the coast stopping in Crescent City, taking a detour through the Discovery Drive to see the Redwoods - this is a 15km stretch of narrow highway deep in the Redwood forest with HUGE trees lining the road. Then only Coos Bay and finally ending up at Newport - it was a long 9 hour day of riding. We checked into a hotel and went to Mo's for dinner in the Bayfront district.
Expect we will be home by Monday or Tuesday. Talk to you tomorrow!!!
