But, We Came For Fruit!!!

Our quest for fruit was not going well - it was more than detouring to Lost Lake and eating BBQ -- the very LONG winter we had just endured had made the fruit very, very late this year.

A few of the commercial stands had fruit from who knows where, but we really wanted Hood River Valley fruit. We went to our least favorite stand - reminded once again why - buy, we did find some cherries. I don't know if they didn't have many left or were putting them out in small lots, but we did get some Rainier Cherries and we wandered through the sunflower garden.

Feeling a bit disappointed we started to head home when we decided to try one last fruit stand - Grandma Mary's. I have to tell you that this is the most non-charming of all of the fruit stands, HOWEVER, it is run by wonderfully friendly people and they had cherries and blueberries!!!

At last, we had our fruit and were heading home! Even got enough to drop some off for some friends!

We put over 350 miles on the car, but what a wonderful day!
