Hello all. We left the lovely Hollie and Mike yesterday, it was quite emotional. I had to leave really quickly before they saw me cry. We had the most amazing time with them and it was so hard to leave them. They took us to the airport by 4.45 in time for a cuppa. Our plane left Medford late by about 20 mins or so( it was a little jet) we got about 25 minutes into our trip to Denver when the captain came on to say there was a fire or smoke coming from an unknown source so it was back to Medford. ( I had heard a man behind me say we were turning around then another saying we were dropping down in height). What a fright we got but the staff were terrific. (Thank the Lord for Valium too!!!!, especially for everyone else's sake. If I had a bottle on me I think I would have swallowed them without water). We eventually left Medford again at 9.30am this time to go to San Francisco then onto New York. We had been up since 3am and arrived in NY at 11.15pm so we were a bit shattered to say the least. We were very glad to get onto terra firma again. We just love NY it is quite a buzz. We went to Staten Island via the Statue of Liberty, took the subway to the 9/11 Memorial(very emotional) then we went to Times Square and booked 'The Jersey Boys' stage play for tonight and it was fantastic. The language was a bit colourful but the play was good. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. When we went to Times Square we had heard about half price tickets for that days show so we found the 'Red stairs' where these tickets are sold and got really good seats. Worth waiting to get the good price. Times Square and the memorial was all we thought it would be. Tomorrow we will set off early again and go to Central Park to take a horse and cart ride then to Tiffany's, Grand Central Station, Rockerfella Centre, Empire State Building maybe the Hudson River, Columbus Square, the grate where Marilyn Monroe's dress blue up and that should just about do us for the next 2 days or so and not sure where else we are playing it by ear. We rode in a yellow cab after the show tonight...how iconic!!!! Will write from the UK next. Hope all is well, we are really enjoying ourselves immensely. Love from us xx
