New York!

Well, up at 3.30am! Packed up and off for a new adventure. Managed both SFO and NYC airports easily (only had to ask questions once at each - so am getting a bit better at this international travel thing...although gotta say its a bit of a chore though). Oh, and thought I would get some cash out at SFO as bout time to top up - and haven't got any since I arrived - and holy crap - went through the whole pin number bit etc only to be told 'bank can't support this transaction'. Oh Oh...no time to do anything about it...just had to sit on a plane for 5 hours and wonder what it meant. Told self not to panic - can use the card for most things...lol...but still need cash on occasion).

Anyway, tried again at the JFK airport and no problems! Phew. Luckily flight was an hour shorter that predicted (?? not sure how this can happen?? a few minutes sure ...but an hour? Musta been hell of a tail wind...or lotsa flatulence maybe? Not me of course).

Caught shuttle bus into Manhatten - bit of a crazy drive - or a crazy driver maybe. Just seemed to turn wildly - laugh - lotsa horn tooting and sang randomly.Anyway, got a thrill as passed signs to Flushing Meadows, Queens etc and got a few glimpses of the skyline including Empire State building...whoohooo. Its okay...held back the tears...just..lol.

Hotel is fine (but disappointed no bar fridge..?). Anyway, pretty much went for a walkabout and had dinner as hadn't eaten pretty much all day. Tuesday night -7.00pm'ish - and there are literally heaps of people out and about. People dining alfesco, walking and hanging around. Feels safe so had a bit of a short stroll into Central Park. Not daring...but feels like ...I dunno...a special moment.

Big of a long blog about nothing today. No photos yet...but watch this space...and have to work out what am gonna do tomorrow...and the next day. WhooHooo.
