Tour time today. Our faithful guide, Cory, took us to breakfast at the Castaways, a popular local diner. Now we were ready to venture on. There are no famous points of interest like Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon or Mt. Rushmore right in our town (Gabby Hayes was born here, though). We drove past the "Pink House", ruins of the Sinclair Refinery, the old Button Factory, Air Preheater (where Cory worked). Sam really liked when we stopped at the old Heart's Delight (Scoville Brown) building. Jim, the owner, has transformed it into his shop for restoration and creation of architectural pieces salvaged from old buildings and houses. It's like "Flea Market Flip" but on a much larger and grander scale. You should see some of the great items he has. So unique! Moving on, we visited the Allentown Antique Mart. Gloria was as gracious as always. Sam bought a big, old Veedol oil can. Gloria shared that she saw more oil cans at The Old Garage in Angelica, NY. Off we went.....Angelica is a delightful, little town with quaint shops plus a very old, historic croquet pit in the middle of their center park. Our daughter-in-law, Jennifer, is from this town, also.

The Old Garage held a million treasures but Sam passed up on the cans - too common. Time to let Sandy look at new stuff instead of all this old stuff. Kandi welcomed us into The Country Store....packed to the rafters with so many wonderful items. Cory & Sam had found an outdoor table in front of the Sweet Shop and enjoyed a coffee plus each others companionship. Onward, Picker Sam spyed, as we traveled by, Ivan's two places that makes any picker drool. A sight to behold! Time for a pop so we sat at the outside table in front of the Beef Haus. Cheers! We are still in awe that we are really here together. Who would have thought?? So much to cheer about. Dinner was enjoyed at L'Italia. Our favorite toast was recited with vigor. Hooray for a great day!

There are some people in life -

That make you laugh a little louder -

Smile a little bigger -

And just live a little better.
