Our day began early because I was fasting. Not part of a diet plan but should be. I had blood work done at the Olean Medical Group for my upcoming routine doctor's appointment next week. As I suffered the agony of the sharp spear, the three musketeers went off for a relaxing breakfast. That's okay; I'm used to suffering. I'll just lick my wounds for nourishment. Our destination today is the Salamanca Antique Mall Co-Op. This is where we have a booth and a case full of our wares we wishfully hope to sell. Some months are better than others but so far, it has been worth the drive and time to keep it up. My main goal for today was to drive to Buffalo. The interstates in western Pennsylvania are not as crowded as on the east coast, so this went much smoother. There was still quite a bit of foliage in this part of the state. Part of the road goes by active farms, and I certainly smelled it. I still had some time available to see things. The first was the Seneca Nation of Indians. They are the westernmost member of the famous Iroquois Confederacy. In their own language, their name translates as "Keepers of the Western Door". They once occupied an area covering most of western New York State. How and why they lost it is part of what I came here to find out.
