Took the bus to the South Street Sea Port. Half price theatre ticket booth again. Walked over amazing Brooklyn Bridge. Great cabling. Wandering past Wall Street to Battery Park. Gazed out to sea at Lady Liberty. Looked around where the twins once stood. All fenced off and under-reconstruction. Checked out the proposed monument and was oddly moved. The waterfalls look a good idea. First subway ride - clean and safe. Walk through Central Park. Luscious, cool and refreshing, from the heat and dust of the city. Saw ‘Next to Normal’. Good story, very funny and sensitive book. We laughed with mental illness rather than at it. Music disappointing - typical 1980s-style, quite Tommy-esque. Great lead performance. Standing ovation from the good house.
