Morning all! Its about 4am here and we're both up and about since it would be 9 back home. Having a bit of an issue with the hostels false advertising with regard to being the number one hostel in the world. There must have been some disclaimer in the small print. Number one for what exactly? The lack of hot water? The peeling floor tiling following a 'recent refurb'? Or the vintage 80's air conditioning unit that is louder than a boeing 747 jet engine cruising at 12000m?
The flight here was uneventful, 2 movies a nap and a fish pie later and we were here. Had our first encounter with the NY subway to get to our hostel, pretty much like London's except the map is a little bit more confusing. So far, we quite like it here. It has the big city atmosphere but seems a bit friendlier, heading here on the metro someone started chatting to us about our travels which is pretty much unheard of on the london underground!
No sunburn yet, but stephanie got bitten by a wee creature in central park! having a proper look round tomorrow and going to watch the new
Airport Entrance
Thats us on our way now!! york philharmonic in central park follwed by fireworks, but hopefully less beastie-bites!!!
Going to head off now and try get another hour sleep in our sauna, i mean bedroom!
Speak to you all soon,
Stephanie and Paul xxx
