I've made it to the Big Apple!

Well, after 4 weeks of travelling across the United States and into Canada I have now made it back to New York. I had an amazing trip, met some fantastic people and had lots of laughs. The highlights of the trip for me were completing a 12 mile hike in Glacier National Park with breath taking views, enjoying a fish supper in Seattle, going to Alcatraz and spending a day at good old Disneyland! I now have 6 nights in NYC before I come home.

Having worked as a primary school teacher for nearly 5 years now I am about to embark on a new adventure. Selected as a Team Leader for ICS and Restless Development I will be spending the next 4 months working as a volunteer in the Tamil Nadu region of Southern India to support local communities with livelihood and health workshops. Wow, time has gone by quickly. I've been jealous all the way while you travel around the States. Would be great to meet up for a drink when you get back. Safe journey. Take care. X

Sounds fantastic! Haven't been to NY since 9/11 so would be interested to know how/if it's changed. Alcatraz is scary isn't it? Did you get shut in a cell?! Can't believe this trip is nearly over - never mind, still got NZ and Aus to look forward to! Are you back long enough to catch up?

Your experiences sound amazing and are making us all feel quite jealous. You seriously are in another world right now, not just a few hours across the Atlantic pond! Know you will be shattered and no doubt very busy while you are home but would be great to catch up. Take care Tina xx
