Well, what started out as a real down kind of a day, picked up and really finished with some excitement. We awoke to realize that the bug that had been nagging at Sue had developed into pneumonia. We knew antibiotics were the only answer so we called Kaiser and they were no help at all. So cousin Judy came to the rescue from Michigan by calling her doctor and refilling her own perscriptions and we were able to pick them up within the hour and get started with the treatment. All this took most of the morning so we needed somthing close to home to do while Sue was convelescing. Since doing much running around was out of the question for today, Jesse, Ben and I walked one block west to Riverside Park where we located 3 geocache's (if you don't know what that is, check out http://www.geocaching.com/) while getting to explore the park and the marina along the Hudson. On the way back we stopped for fresh hot bagels at H&H, then 2 blocks later saw a Ray's Pizza. Since that would be carb overload we decided to leave that one for tomorrow. We got home for a late lunch

and watched the Met's game on TV. Then things really started picking up. Sue was still down for the count and Ben was still tired so Jesse and I went to the Friday night Service a half a block from our front door. This was such an incredible experience that words will never be able to describe it. The energy from the six musicians, two rabbis, several supporting leaders and the four or five hundred people filling this magnificent, old, ornate synagogue was like nothing I'd ever felt before. The singing, dancing, and parading around was so infectious that I had to run back to the apartment to see if there was any way Sue and Ben could join us. Sue was not up to it but Ben did and was sure glad he did. The main rabbi, J. Rolando Matalon, was from Argentina and had a very nice style. The other was actually a rabbinic fellow, Katie Mizrahi, and she is actually related to me. If I have this straight, my father and her grandmother were first cousins. You can figure out what that makes her to me and let me know. We got home very excited trying to

detail to Sue what we had experienced, and realized we hadn't eaten yet. I said I'd run down to Broadway and get something, as there's one place after another where you can get virtually anything. Anlong the way I saw that there was a line forming at the Barnes & Noble with people dressed up in wizard hats and round glasses waiting for the Harry Potter release at midnight. So after some late sustanence with a little gelato and sorbetto to top it off, Jesse and I decided to go out and get the book. We waited until 12:30 for the line to clear but when we got there it was still down to and around the corner. It moved really quick, though, and we were out of there and back home in about 20 minutes or so. They were passing out the round glasses, posters, stickers, and green rubber bracelets to everyone on the line. It was a blast, here it is 2:15 am and I still haven't stared to wind down yet. Sue was already starting to feel some improvement so we're hoping that a good night's rest will have her at least ready to get up and
