Autumn Leaves
A blaze of color in Andy and Kay's backyard Leaving Traverse City, we drove through Ontario and headed east to Lake George in the Adirondacks, where Ken and Ellie re-joined us for a few days. They graciously returned 9 bottles of wine that we didn't want to carry across Ontario due to Canada's alcohol tax. Of course, we thanked them by sharing a bottle or two or three.
We then headed south to spend time with Andy and Kay (who joined us in Yellowstone a few months ago) and who have a lovely country home and 50 acres outside Troy, NY. Diane backed the bus all the way up their long driveway to the barn, where a 50-amp outlet was available. The fall color was spectacular this year. We visited Saratoga, West Point, several quaint Vermont towns, local farmers’ markets, and found a wonderful art museum along the way. We shopped The Vermont Country Store and the Orvis flagship store. We really enjoyed spending time with them and meeting Andy’s sister’s family, as well.
By now, it was mid-October, so we headed south to avoid the colder weather. We didn’t stop for more than an overnight rest until we reached Savannah, GA.
We took a trolley tour

Taking a breather outside the Orvis Store this time, which provided a nice overview of the town’s history. We also made the tourist pilgrimage to Paula Deen’s restaurant (of Food Network fame), where we had a delicious lunch. After re-charging our batteries after that long drive south, we headed to Florida.
