After arriving in Albuquerque for the 2006 APS conference, I joined a campanion tour to Santa Fe. The trip couldn't have been better. In one day, I visited the St. Miguel mission, the Loretto Chapel (with the mysterious stairway), the St. Francis cathedral, and tasted the world famous Frieto Pie (made of Frieto chips, bean, beef, and cheese). Since I rang the bell in the St. Miguel mission, I will go back to Santa Fe again (with pleasure)!

The buildings in Santa Fe are typically made of adobe bricks, which give the brown/yellowish color to the buildings. The adobe bricks are now replaced with stuco.
