Today we began our journey crossing the U.S. at 5:40am. We were fortunate in that we did not hit any traffic leaving the LA area. We were very thankful! Jojo also decided not to give the cats their medicine until she thought they needed it. Surprisingly the cats did very well in the car. Oh wait! Mischa decided to pee on Jojo's seat. So I pull over on the side of the 40 freeway so she can take care of matters. In the process of trying to clean things up Mischa attempted to escape forcing Jo to carry her. She then clawed Jo and left her with a good mark. After that we locked her in her cage 😊 Problem solved and we had good kitties 😉 I really think The Dude needs to be commended for his superior behavior!

The scenery going through Arizona and New Mexico was amazing. Parts of Arizona reminded me of Germany and Austria. Lush forests all around. We also saw many pockets of red rocks similar to Sedona which were beautiful. My only complaint would be the weather. We hit a lot of rain. The most frightening was when we were caught in the middle of a massive thunder storm. The rain was coming down so fast and furious that I had no visibility and the roads were flooded. At the same time lightening was crashing all around us. I almost had a heart attack! By the grace of God I was able to pull over without getting in an accident and we waited out the storm. The lightening was so close that it shook the whole car 😞

Here are some odd things I saw and heard today:
4 people walking along the freeway and NOT hitchhiking.
A bag man on his bicycle on the freeway.
Bella asking if we could rent a hotel for an hour :/

Now we are safe in sound in our hotel room in Albuquerque after a nice dinner and some hot tub. 790 miles - check. 2000 more to go!

Good night from New Mexico!

Cat Pee, T-Storms and Hotel Rooms
Good Morning from NH- I feel like I am right there with you. Oh those storms are horrible huh! I can't imagine but that would have been a good video. Cat pee poor sister and keep them caged! He had to express his unhappiness with his trip. It would be horrible to hear when they decide to sit on your shoulder or head when driving down the highway! Oh and just add another thunder storm to that and you have an all time winning homes funniest video. Hotel room for an hour hmmmm that is actually hysterical. OMG she sounds so adorable Hope you had fun in the hot tube!
