We dumped our tanks and filled the water before we left our “sweet, free spot” at the Trop!! Arrived in Vegas about 4pm and checked in at the Main Street Station casino to park the RV. $14 a night for full hookups...thought that was a great deal, as we’ll for sure be running the A/C the entire stay!!! It’s mostly just a parking lot...not much in the way of trees or scenery, but didn’t come to Vegas to stay in the coach!!! MSS is part of the “old downtown” Vegas and right across from the “Freemont Experience”. We’d not been downtown before, so were excited to see something new 😊
MSS was pretty cool...lots of old dark carved wood and brass fixtures...not too large, but had the Triple 7 Brewpub, so that was a plus!!!
We met up with G’s niece, Stephanie, for dinner out in North Vegas. Had a nice visit, then back downtown to do the “Freemont Experience”. It was really fun...their theme is currently Summer of the 70’s, and then had a Journey tribute band at one end of the street and a 70’s song & dance show at the other end...amazing just to stand and
watch the people walk by!!

Got a late start on the day, but ended up at the Flamingo around 3pm. Got more pics of flamingoes...I’ve got to find out how I can raise one of my own!!! Had a drink at Margaritaville and G played cards for a while. Headed back downtown for some dinner and more card-playing.

Headed for Hoover Dam today. We walked over the dam and took pics before we took the tour through the dam. It’s so amazing that they had the ability in the 30’s to construct such an enormous undertaking!! They built the whole thing by pouring cement in 50x60x5’ blocks, interlocking with each other. Still over 100 degrees today, so we headed to Lake Mead when we left the dam. The water was a perfect temp, but the wind was blowing really hard, which meant the sand was blowing really hard, which meant this contact-wearing girl didn’t last too long!! We splashed around for a while, but didn’t take long for my ears to feel like they were getting sunburnt!!
Our pal, Bridget, had come to Vegas to visit her cousin, so she came over and we headed to
find dinner. Off to the strip...stopped at Gilley’s and had a beer...a new bride rode the bull!!! Amazing Vegas!!! We were in Treasure Island, so had to catch the “Sirens of TI” show in the lagoon there...pretty fun!! Over to Harrah’s and the Toby Keith bar for dinner. B & I got in some dancing...the house band was pretty good!! After dinner, we headed for Margaritaville. Their house band was good, and we had pretty good seats, so took in the show there!! Once the band stopped playing, we headed back downtown and the Triple 7 brewery 😊 Needless to say, we didn’t get back to the coach until 3am!!

Glenn & I had signed up for a “tour” at the Worldmark timeshare (for free stuff 😊 at 9am...dumb!!! We were totally tired and it dragged on for 2 hours...but we got $200 and some “free” cruise out of it, so guess it was worth it...back to pick up B and we headed to the Rio for lunch at their Irish pub. I do NOT recommend it...service and food were both poor!!! We thought we might be able to see where they play the World Series of Poker,
but it’s held at their convention center and they tear the whole thing down once it’s over. So over to the Palms...G had some pretty good luck at the card table there...then over to Mandalay Bay to see the Shark Tank. Turns out it’s 16 each to view, so we passed!! Back downtown to Freemont to show Bridget the area. We stopped at the Redwoods Restaurant in the California casino for dinner...awesome prime rib!!! YUM!!!

Got up totally refreshed today and ready to “hit the strip”!!! We parked at the Flamingo and had lunch at Margaritaville...YUM!!! Then we walked thru the Venetian shops and over to Cesear’s to see the Moving Statues. That show was pretty cheesy, but the aquarium under them was nice. We went back to Gilley’s for shopping and B and I had a dance 😊 Back over to the Flamingo to play cards until time for the Bellagio fountains to go off. They were really cool, but it was a pretty short show!! Back downtown to change and go dancing. We were trying to get to Stoney’s - a country dance hall, but the one on the south end of town is closed on Mondays
and the one on the north end of town had 6 patrons, so we headed back to MSS to play cards for a bit.

Had to get Bridget to the airport by 11:30 so she could catch her flight back...we were all sad to see her go...had a really nice visit!! We buttoned up things and got on the road to Flagstaff around 2pm. G drove until Kingman and I drove nearly to Flagstaff. When you’re in that area, it feels like you’re driving on top of the world...then again, at over 7300 feet, you nearly are!!! Spent the night in the Camping World parking lot again, as it was after 8pm by then.
