At The Border !
Me and the girls at the Canadian border ! Happy Father's Day Daddy and Daddy Jack !!! and Happy Birthday Hunter and Anthony !!! I love you millions !!!
Let me start by saying it was really really cold last night and somehow Tim and I ended up on the pull out couch while Kayla & Emily slept very comfortably in our king sized bed !! We were so excited about Glacier National Park and Canada today we got up around 9:00 a.m. and started preparing for the day. The girls and I gathered our buckets and headed downhill to the showers for our daily ritual. Let’s hope that no one ends up on the floor today! The three of us are all out of the shower and getting ready. Emily and I are brushing our teeth as Kayla is blow-drying her hair. All of a sudden you hear this loud “POP” and everything gets a little dark. Kayla has tripped the breaker in the entire building and we all have wet hair. I said to the girls, throw all your stuff in the buckets and let’s get out of here. I didn’t want them to know it was us so we took off like little bandits. I
I Can't Believe We Made It !
The Canada / United States Border ! swear Amber I don’t know where you got that new blow dryer you gave me for Mothe r’s Day but it must be some kind of super duper thing !! We quickly ran up the hill back into the motor home and out of sight. As we were finishing up and preparing to leave for the day in our rental car or should I say rental mini-van, Kayla comes out of the bedroom holding her nose and screaming “get me a rag, get me a rag” she has blood coming out of her nose like a water faucet. After tending to her we finish packing the “survival bag” and head off to “Going to the Sun Road” in Glacier National Park (it’s in the book Lynn!). First we have to make a pit-stop at this café on the corner called the Park Café and grab some food. The food was good but the homemade pies were better !! Tim had peach, I had chocolate, Kayla had banana cream and Emily had razzleberry. We bought t-shirts for everyone and headed out. Yes Amber, I got you one too ! As we approach the gates at “Going to the Sun Road” the
May I See Your License Sir ?
I thought O' Lord I hope they don't check his driving record !! wildlife ranger informs us that there was an avalanche there last week and that the majority of the road was shut down indefinitely. Of course we had to pay full price to get in but we could only travel the first 13 miles and then turn around. We decided to go ahead and see what we could and I’m glad we did. There is a gorgeous lake there and we did get to see a waterfall too. Unfortunately there were no bear :-( ! We left there and set off for my favorite part of the day, the Canadian border. I’m not sure why but I was so excited to see Canada. We made it through customs with no problems and we soon crossed over into Alberta, Canada. We really didn’t have a plan so we just followed the map and ended up in a small town called Waterton. We parked the mini-van (it was old and smelled like smoke) and began strolling the streets of this adorable town. The next thing we know we look up and there are four deer standing right beside us, two mommas and two babies. The little babies still had their spots and they
Look How Sweet !
The girls just walked right up to them ! They were walking all around town ! looked just like Bambi. We ended up seeing them all over the town, just walking around like nobody’s business. We shopped and bought lots of souvenirs. It was getting towards dinner time so we decided we wanted to stay and eat in Canada just so we could say we had dinner in Canada. We found a quaint little restaurant down by Waterton Lake and enjoyed a lovely outdoor dinner. We left Canada and made it back to St. Mary’s KOA but not after seeing three cows and one horse on the side of the road. The girls enjoyed bike riding so much yesterday they decided to try it again. While on their adventure they managed to fall into the creek and get soaked from head to toe ! They also found the hot tub and thought they’d try it out. After relaxing in the hot tub they put their jama’s on and hopped into bed to watch a movie. They were soon off to la la land where they remain at this moment. Tim had recorded the race on the Direct TV DVR so he made himself a Crown & Coke, propped his feet up and enjoyed the race. Oh
Beautiful Skyline !
