As I was driving into town, I immediately noticed how huge the Gateway Arch is. It’s 630 feet tall. Thanks to my grandkids, I learned a few months ago that you can take a ride inside of the arch to get to the top. I did it and it was really cool. From the top, I was able to see the Cardinals playing the Phillies.

This trip has been a dream of mine for many years. I have always wanted to take a trip around the United States after my retirement from teaching. It is hard to believe it is finally here. I will be starting an approximately 7 week driving trip, spending most of my time in the south and on the east coast. Emily will be able to join me for the first week plus and then she will have to return to work. The trip after Texas is designed to be very fluid.
