Well it's getting so close!
I leave Thursday morning. I have to be at the airport at 4am. . I think I am ready. I have everything packed and it doesn't even take up two suitcases. I am proud of that since I will be gone for two months and I am only taking the necessecities. I picked up my new camera yesterday. So far I am satisfied with it. It takes some really good quality photos.
I got my home stay information a few days ago. I will be staying in Atwell with a woman and her son as well as a Korean student who is trying to learn English. The woman, Suzette, tells me that her 17 year old son is a health nut and is at the gym a lot. Looks like I'll have a work out buddy, or at least an escort there! The Korean students name wasn't given, but I think he is 24.
Mark, the man who will be my supervisor for internship is picking me up from the airport. I am happy about that because he is who I am in contact with the most. I am still very nervous though. I've never flown more than two hours alone. I've never been out of the country.
However, I am so unbelievably excited. I don't even think it's set in quite yet.
I am working on a research project while I am there. I finally finished up the rough draft of the Intro and Methods. I am not satisfied with it, but I intend on expanding once I get there and have some time to let everything sink in. I am focusing on coping with culture shock while adapting to a new work setting simultaneously. Well, that's what I focused on for the version I turned in, because I'm not sure how I want to work other things in yet.
But I guess that's not the exciting part of the trip, haha.
The internship and adventures will be so very exciting.
Off for my morning run!
Talk to you all again when I am in AUSTRALIA!!!!
