*Chicago*

After the show last night we at a friend of Martins house (Pat). Parking was difficult so Brian and I stayed in the bus and the others slept in Pat's apartment. We slept for about 5 hours and went to breakfast (Denver omelet and pancakes) at the Hollywood Cafe before making a halfhearted attempt to find more oil. The pressure is holding at a pretty steady 60 psi (perfect) and there is a bit of oil still in the tank so we should get quite a few more miles out of it. I didn't see diesel prices in Chicago but I did see gas for $3.89 so the farther we can get the better. We were able to by-pass the interstate construction out of Chicago and are now cruising through Indiana on our way to Detroit. At the show last night Martin received a bunch of copies of Martin Atkins' (Pigface, Nine Inch Nails, et al) new book to which Martin ( the
one here in the bus) was a contributor. We are listening to a new compelation of Martin Atkins' label Invisible. Brian,Martin, and Laurie all worked on the first song of the comp. for Pigface.

The temperature here is about 93 and the bus is staying nice until we have to stop to pay a toll. Jennifer sent me a picture mail today of Charlie at a friends pool lounging about like dogs do. It's good to hear from home

The show last night was interesting to say the least. There was a lot of audio problems so sound check took forever and never really did do the trick. The crowd was small however the people that did come were very appreciative and made it a little easier to stomach. After Attrition played there was the normal clustering of people near the merch table and signing of CDs etc.. A woman that had come over to see us from Windsor Canada approached Brian and I and started asking normal questions about touring and meeting Attrition. It became quickly apparent this woman was some class of neo-nazi/skinhead (though her head wasn't shaved) and assumed the same of Brian and I because we both have our heads shaved. We quickly tried to ditch her and the conversation that kept running into racist areas.
