My plane home.
A few weeks ago I visited my hometown. I got off the plane in Detroit and waited for my dad to come pick me up. While I was standing there I noticed how green everything was. Which, to me, now seemed dirty. I've gotten so used to seeing mountains all around me and palm trees lining the streets that home just looked like a lush industrial green. It might help to understand that Vegas isn't industrial -- besides large casinos. It is more like living in the country then it is like living in a large city. Actually when I drive to work I see the city below me on the freeway and it's so pretty. When I first got home everything was so flat and city like that I felt out of place. To further my feeling of being out of place, I was living out of a suitcase. A suitcase. It was a weird first night. At first it was hard to fill my day, my friends were all busy with work and my dad was too. But then, as my time got shorter, everything seemed so rushed. I had time slots that friends had to almost make appointments

Oh how I missed the Blue label
to see me. Now that isn't said to make me seem popular or whatever, it's said to describe how I had to choose what I wanted to do. Did I want to stay at my friend Cathy's wedding where everyone was still dancing or did I want to drive to my favorite bar in Detroit and see my cousin and two other friends? When I did decide, I would only have so much time. I had wanted to just sit there and hear the most trivial life stories of the friends I haven't seen in six months. It was never hard to fill the time, actually time seemed to go by too quickly.

Some of the very cool things I got to do when I went home

Dearborn Italian Bakery cannolies.
Little Ceases Pizza -- they way it's supposed to taste
Going to the set of Scream 4!

Over all it was a great visit home. By the

end of the trip, I was happy to be home. In fact I miss it very much. The first week home I kept watching the On Location site which talks about the stars filming movies in Michigan and it showed pictures that made me really miss it. Especially when Scream 4 was filming a week later in Plymouth which has this great martini bar and city fountain.

I even had some dreams about home. It almost made it harder to be here but then I went to Motor City Coney Island. It's this hole in the wall diner in Henderson NV. Just south of Las Vegas. The downtown area there seemed very nice, with brick roads and a home feeling. The Coney Island was all Michigan themed with signs for the Boblo Boat or sports or Ford. The walls are covered in signatures and the food is imported in from Michigan -- Dearborn Sausage hotdogs, Chilli from Detroit, Faygo Pop, Verners, Better Maid, and Saunders. It was like a little slice of home for me.

Now I am once again excited to be home, in Las Vegas. Where my room has it's own bathroom and I live out of a walk in closet and not a suit case.

I miss everyone though!
