We woke up bright and early and were ready to leave at 7am for Wahington DC. Our tour for the White House was booked for midday and it was a 4 hours drive, so we wanted to get there with plenty of time in case we got lost. At about 9am we hit really bad traffic and after sitting in it for an hour we decided to pull over into the Chesapeake Visitors area because we needed a toilet break anyway. By the time we were done the traffic had come to a complete standstill, so we decided hang around at the visitors centre for a while so the traffic could clear. We gave up on the idea of making it to DC by midday to do our tour, but luckily we happened to also have ... read more

Hello from Washington DC, Its been a little while since weve been on the net. When we left Atlanta, we headed for my brother, Evan's house. I bought the kids a portable DVD player and some $5 DVD's and that kept them reasonably quiet for most of the trip. Only thing is they miss things along the way. Not that they really care !! Evan lives down quite a steep driveway, got down there ok, then had to manouvre the rolling turd around down by his house. Got it in the end, parked on his lawn and hooked up. Got to Evan's about 2pm , stinking hot. So we went out in his boat again. We all went for a kneeboard, Josh had a ski. Blew up the biscuit and went on that too. Came home ... read more

We all have to start somewhere. This is my somewhere. I have a long story... but today in this moment.. I prefer the short one. The short version is.. that it's taken me way too many years to get here. I'm not sure the exact date.. that my life really began.. but it was very recent. In the last.. 60 hours. Something like that. It doesn't matter how old I am.. because most people think I'm a child trapped inside the body of a woman. Well.. the trapped part is going to be leaving me soon. I'm so untrapped right now... that I'm almost floating... If you see a girl grabbing onto a tree... and looking very at peace... it just might be me. Just might be. So.. when I have time... and I feel like ... read more

Nov 5. Cape May, NJ to Chesapeake City, MD We hauled up the anchor at 0830. At 1012 we were leaving the fuel dock. We put 189.2 gallons of diesel at 2.99 a gallon. We burned about 20 gallons per hour yesterday. At 1017 we entered Cape May Canal which is about 8nm long. At 1107 we entered Delaware Bay which is one of Ximena’s favorites sites of the journey. The horns located in place of the red markers are pieces of maritime art. We were running at 7.5 knots average so she got time to take incredible pictures of five of them: At 1212 Fourteen FT Bank. At 1236 Miah Maull Shoal. At 1304 Abandon LH (Ruins) At 1321 Elbow of Cross Ledge At 1335 Ship John Shoal. We saw a couple of big cargo ... read more
