Like Kingsley Plantation, this plantation interested me because it was run by four generations of women which wasn't common in the 1800s but there is so much more to learn about over here. if you look closely on the fireplace you can see what looks like a jar full of tar...this was the slave family's portion of sugar as they got the dregs that were left and molasses if they were lucky.

This was where Laura's Grandmother retired to after relinquishing managing duties but word is that she never really stopped managing things
