Finally Out of Florida! (That's Right, Hammond, LA - Home of "The Duck Dynasty")

Driving day, early start at 7:30 AM. Traffic was light in the morning but picked up the last 2 hours. We listened to and watched the GBC service while traveling down I-10. Alabama 9:30A saw USS Alabama in Mobile harbor. Mississippi 11:00A; drove through Biloxi, the city where our adventure together began in 1964. Entered Louisiana at 12:10P. Three states in 4 hours but we think Texas will take a little longer. lol Just a stopover here in Hammond, LA on the north shore on Lake Pontchartrain and off to Beaumont, Texas in the morning. Weather was great but warm

Remembrances of 1970
I almost feel I'm in the back seat in your vehicle with you as I recall the Southern route we took back in 1970 to California from Georgia to go to Lloyd's new job. Thanks for including us in your adventures. We had family visitors today and didn't get to church. One was a 3yr old greatgranddaughter we had never seen. She (Letty) and her 6 yr old brother (Kaleb) were two little sweethearts. Drive safely.

On the road again
The ducks at the park may be part of the duck dynasty. Looks like y'all are making good time heading west. I remember on one trip from Destin Fl (about 600 miles from home) coming back the plan was to stop overnight in Lake Charles, LA. But with Texas just over the horizon and a few hours of daylight left I decided to go for it and drive all the way home. Got home about midnight and said I'll never do that again, and I haven't. 300 miles a day is enough for me. Safe travels! 73
