9/11 was a very important point in American history. This day crippled the way we view certain races. I interviewed my mother who was a student in college when it happened. My mother describes this day as a very sad one. She had been on her way to UIC on the highway. She was a twenty six year old in the car headed to school. She then heard on the radio that the plane was high jacked and had crashed into one of the buildings. Her professor then called saying that all classes were canceled, to avoid going downtown, and to remain at home. The first thing she did though was drive to her children's school to pick them up and see if they were alright. After that she brought her kids to her mom's house. As she contacted many other friends and family they each came to her mom house for one big gathering. Fortunately, after all of this was over, she found at that nobody she knew had been hurt, injured, or dead.
