Hello fellow bloggers! I have found a current issue that is an infringement of human rights, specifically article three, and it is the shooting of Jonylah Watkins. This event took place in Chicago, Illinois. the people who were involved were gang members, six month Jonylah, and her father. As her father was changing her diaper in their van, local gang members shot at them. They ended up shooting the baby five times. This infringes the right to life, liberty, and security. I believe that the child's rights were violated because she has lost her life for no reason and unfortunately there really hasn't been any solution to gang violence. The police has recently convicted the thirty-three year old man who shot her with first degree murder, but even though that punishment is justifiable, it won't bring back the life of Jonylah Watkins.
