Is violence ever justifiable for making a point or having your opinion heard?

I do not think that violence is justifiable for making a point or making my opinion heard. Violence only makes the situation worse. For example, the bombing at the Boston Marathon was a tragedy. Inoccent people passed away because of one selfish person's action. Even if the suspects were not thinking right, they had no right to kill those people. Violence does not solve the problem. It only makes it worse. There are other ways to solve though situations. Some people do not realize the alternative ways there are to ake your opinion heard. People can send letters, or make peaceful protest. Not going out there and killing people they do not even know.
