1. The natives were the ones who started Day of the Dead. The Spanish conquistidors thought they were mocking death and tried to stop it. Day of the Dead is celebrated all over the world, so the Spanish could not get rid of this celebration. The main symbol for Day of the Dead would be the skulls and people would make altars for their loved ones that are deceased.

2. I thought it was a nice thing to do for their loved ones because it is showing that they have not forgotten about them and they are happy they have moved on.

3. This connects to class because we have learned that the Spanish are always trying to change others religion and they are always unsuccessful.The natives would not back down from their beliefs.
