• Select highschools in California are having students carry around a Global Positioning System (GPS). The students are volunteers to this program and most have more than four or more unexcused absences. The tracking system has performed well at other campuses and produced major growth in the attendence of students. The topic itself is very conterversial.
• Personally when I first read the article I was in a minor rut because I saw both aspects of the argument. One side is of the students and parents arguing that the students aren't prisoners and should not be under a all day watch. The opposing side made of staff of the schools and advocates of the programs say that not only is it going to help the school finacially but also help the student body academically.
• This artical may conect to class of how Great Britian held control of the Colonies and track what they did.
