My RIHLA this week isn't exactly an article, but it is a recipe. I chose a recipe because we recently were talking about products that were traded during the Atlantic Slave Trade, and how those have affected different cultures today.

The recipe I chose is Classic Irish Coffee. This recipe was interesting to me because it has sugar and coffee beans that originated from the New World and Africa respectively. This conbination of products has impacted the Irish culture because this recipe has become a tradition for people to drink every St. Patrick's Day. The website states, "Irish Coffee was originally created by an Irish chef/barman as a warm and welcoming drink for the first American tourists who arrived in Ireland via transatlantic passenger airplanes." This shows how long the tradition has been going on for.

I'm curious to know how people have managed to create something that have been around for centuries and how it had been accepted by other cultures. Learning about other cultures makes history more interesting because people can see how things have changed since the "beginning of time" until now and how those events will impact the future.
