1.I wanted to learn more about why there are too many homeless people being abused and the different ways we can prevent hate crimes.
2.I learned that a hate crime is committed by someone who has a strong resentment towards a certain group of people. These people mistreat the homeless. I learned that 67% of the homeless population are beaten and 13% are raped. I also learned that there are laws created to protect the homeless.
3. Homelessness relates to what we are learning in class. We learned that in India, the untouchables exist. The untouchables are treated just like the homeless. They are seen as unworthy and are often mistreated. They are raped and killed.
4. I think that we can't change how individuals feel about a certain group of people, but we can protect the homeless.
