The rights that were violated were freedom of petition because workers were not allowed to form unions. However, now they are able to form unions due to the building collapsing. Forming unions without permission was against the law, meaning that the employees could not raise their voice. They worked in tough conditions and thousands of people would die. They would work long hours for little pay and work in hazardous environments. Millions of workers were being mistreated and because of this didn't have a voice.
