After a kind of "passed out" sleep last night it was great to have a relaxing day in this beautiful canyon of the Snake River. My aunt Peggy and uncle Phil's place is on the south side of the canyon half way up the slope and has an amazing view of the river and east and west along the canyon. For those of you who are not familiar with the Snake River Canyon, this is the canyon Evel Knievel unsuccessfully attempted to jump back in the 70's (?). I woke up about 7 am and spent a couple of hours chatting with my aunt and after Ken woke up we had breakfast and then went out with Phil and did a bit of sight-seeing around the canyon. On the north side of the canyon are hundreds of fresh water springs that gush out cold and clear from the rock walls of the canyon. There are also a number of fish hatcheries (trout) along this stretch of the canyon. We saw Niagara Springs and Thousand Springs (pictures attached). We then went for a nice lunch at the golf and country club which is along the river about 5 miles downstream from the

house. After lunch we came back to the house and relaxed for the rest of this very hot day - 35C (94F). I had about an hour nap and Ken played a game on his computer and the we went upstairs and sat out on the deck and watched the river go by as there was a cool enough breeze blowing so we could comfortably sit out there! Had a delicious comfort food dinner (pot roast) and everyone is ready to crash. This is such a wonderful place to be....quiet, relaxing and beautiful! We got on the list to inherit this place should they ever need someone to live here after they are gone! Of course, I may be fighting my 4 cousins and their 7 kids at that time but we shall see! But Peggy and Phil did say I asked first! Going to upload my photos and then hit the sack. Tomorrow we start moving south again down into southern Utah - can't wait! PS I got yesterday's photos to upload so you may want to look back at that post!

a spring is always a delightful discovery
The only thing as nice as the miracle of water falling from the sky unbidden is when it gushes from an unlikely rock face, gurggling happily down to make flowers and even potatos, lol. Wonderful pics, hope the jet sreams wends a little south to cool your foray into the southwest!
