Today was a bit disappointing; we found the fossil beds Visitor Center closed, so we didn't get to see any fossils. However, we went to a variety of places today and found much of interest.

Our day started today with a very, very small State Park.

It was a fun, short hike up to the balanced rock

With a wide view of the surrounding countryside.

It was quite a scramble to get up top and around behind.

We encountered a flock of pheasants in a ploughed field.

Thousand Springs really does have a thousand springs. There is water pouring out of the hillside everywhere you look.

We spent a lot of time around the Snake River.

This is an overlook where you can see part of the Oregon Trail, and even walk along it for a ways.

We ended the day today at a cottage right by this creek. It was a restful end to the day.
