After a very windy and wet night (which I love, as long as I am warm), we set off for Yellowstone. On arrival, and whilst going through the East entrance, we were advised by the ranger not to go in, or over the pass because of the snow and ice! Not a good start...but we duly ignored the advice and set off anyway. Going over the pass was cold, but perfectly OK to ride, but my advice to any motorcyclist thinking of camping in Yellowstone is...don't! Because of the elevation, its all freezing, with snow in most places and windy most of the time. There are lots of people and the campsites were soggy, no hot water and uneven. July 22, 2010 Last night we stayed in Wells, Nevada. We left at around 8:00 a.m. for Idaho and Wyoming. We had to do a little RV cleaning before we left. Nevada made everything gritty and dusty. Jackpot, Nevada is the last town before entering Idaho. There is nothing I could see in Jackpot except motels, hotels, RV Parks, and casinos. Entered Idaho at 9:15 am. Went through Twin Falls, Idaho, took pictures of the Snake River Gorge and, at last, some green farm fields and TREES. Went through Pocatello to Idaho Falls and into Ashton where we camped for the night. Beautiful campground, view of the Tetons. See you in Yellowstone.
