Hi everyone!! Today we went on a journey to the black sand beaches and Kilaheua volcano. Kilaheua is very active will many steam vents and hot molten lava lowing into the ocean. Unfortunately, the lava is about a mile long walk in the heat on a jagged lava path so I wasn't going with the kids. On the way to the volcano we stopped at a true black sand beach, it was really neat. Our drive took us to Hilo and the banyan tree park, some of the banyans are huge and are planted by people like Emellia Erheart and Cecil B Demille. then we frove on through to Waimea and back to Kona took us most of the day. I can't say enough good things about the dvd player in the van, its a long drive!!! Bye for now Kellie and family
