Interesting day on the ditch. Left Kilkenny Creek near Richmond Hill, Ga. We stayed there for two days waiting out weather. Left this morning at 7:00. For some reason my wind meter which hasn't worked for three years decided to work. It read 29 knots going through St Catherines Sound.Thewind blew pretty much 20 to 25 all day. Kept blowing my hat off. Very irritating. We ran aground in the Little Mud River. Four feet in the middle of the channel. Another sail boat ran aground on the right side of the channel. The wind blew me off the bottom just as a trawler went through on the left side of the channel and gave us a reading of six feet. Lucked out again and both of us sailboats followed him through.

We keep running into a couple on a saiboat named Dreamwisperer. We have ended up at three anchorages.

Tomorrow we should be in Fernandina Beach, Florida by about 3:00. Always wanted to take a boat down the ICW to Florida. Finally did it.

We are at anchor now at St Simons Island, Ga. Hope to get off about 7:00 in the morning.

Kilkenny Creek was a great anchorage. Rode the dinghy over to restaurant in the rain and wind in our foul weather gear. Never seen it so dark outside. Rode out two days in 25 kt gusts and never budged. Then the anchor pulled up with no problem. Got to love those CQR's.

almost there!
Well, Don. You're almost there in FL! And it's probably a good thing because the nor'easter put the docks at the Salt Ponds under water. It was terrible yesterday!!! Just as bad as Isabel except I never lost power, TG. I do think it rained about 12-14 inches here because my fish pond is filled up again to overflowing.
