Here we are at mooring ball 05

The Vero Beach City Marina is a super spot. We're moored on a ball for @$15 in a sheltered harbour, with free bus service to the beach and town. What could be better for cruisers? Well there's an extire roomful of washers and dryers... and they work! AND the temperature is quietly creeping up into the 60's F with higher promised in a few days. Woohoo!

Many boaters have left since we arrived on Tuesday because they finally have a window to jump outside at Fort Pierce and scoot to south Florida or straight to the Bahamas. Some have been waiting here inrelative comfort since November.

It still gets better. We're meeting people that we've seen before and some of them play music. Tonight is a potluck jam on MELODEON. Yum yum. Gotta run. : )

No bother. Just the ocassional squawk to get Ginger tuned up and barking.
The prettiest bridge...The prettiest bridge...

By day and by night, the Merril P Barber Bridge to Vero Beach across the ICW looks more like sculpture than a bridge. Makes you wonder why others look more like Mechano.

Wohoo!
I am impressed. Also you do not have to eat frozen oranges. A jam on MELODEON. I am jealous! ---------------------------------------------------------- Cut below I am playing in my second squash tournament. It is doubles in the 70+ age bracket. I became 70 on 28 Dec 2009. There is an active group at this age. Conn was exciting. when I finally got there on 29 Dec the power was off for 4 days. US Soc Ins sent a note to the checking account that my mom has died. The power co. does not bill a deceased person's checking acct. After 3 calls, finding the bills had been paid, and 2000 homes were sans power due to heavy winds with fallen branches, the actual reason emerged at 11pm. I got turned back on after the acct was put in my name. Any way, probate court has to do its thing. My bro has not answered any calls as of yet. Have fun in the warm weather. Toronto is -3C now. Love, Jim

Cool sunset. Your right about the bridge. Kind makes that little swing bridge over the canal look cheesy ! No pun intended.

Glad to hear that it's warming up for you. You both look good! We are busy and keeping out of trouble here. It is raining today but we could stand some warmer climes. Having the two different stoves on board was a good appraoch. If one doesn't have the fuel, the other might. Thinking about you and glad that youa are well and that you are having fun. That is what it is all about. take care and enjoy!

Potluck/jam FRIENDS
Thanks everybody. Guess the more we change, the more we stay the same. Or we just get smart enough to keep doing some of the things that work! So the big saloon with the folding table on the boat works just the way Frank planned for dinner and music. When the weather gets a tad warmer it will all move outside on deck or on shore. So start planning and bring you music. Looks like we'll be lurking around Florida for a while. xoxo CFG

Hello from the Federal Point Yacht Club
Hi guys!! Well, I see you've made it down the Florida....it looks real pretty down there. I hope the weather is getting warmer for you....today we're getting up to 60 degrees, which is about normal for this time of year. Since you guys have left, I've been left all alone : ( with nobody to talk to. I really enjoyed your stay at the FPYC, and hope you will think of us again if you head back this way. Good luck with the rest of your journey, and tell Ginger hello for me :)
