Loggerhead marinaLoggerhead marinaLoggerhead marina

this very comfortable resort marina was our base for the winter....it has a pool, restaurant, cable tv and good access to the town of Stuart, for a modest price
Another boating season is now behind us...this was our 4th season south; the weather was great...shorts and t's every day...swimming and golfing...but no sailing. A combination of circumstances conspired to keep us marina - bound for 3 months...family illness and contrary winds kept us from our goal to cross to the Bahamas.

But, we had a great time with our boating friends in and around Stuart.. enjoyed a trip across Florida to visit with friends and had a great 24 hour visit with Kim, James Luke and Josh - the first night sleeping aboard for the two boys.

Hopefully, next season we will have more of interest to share with you.

Luke had a great time aboard - scooting down below then out the front hatch, taking a ride in the dinghy and swatting jellyfish with a fly swatter then a sleepover in the aft cabin

this is the only travel lift we have seen that does not have a safety track for the wheels as it moves out into the haul-out well...no room for error

this year we added truck tarping over Gust O'Wind to protect her from the harsh Florida summer sun....hurricane tie downs will be put in place later....see you in January!

On the Hard
Time to get your land legs functioning again!!!! I guess that the 'Traveller' driver only gets a beer after the job is done. Your faith is to be commended. We have been on St. S. for two months and enjoyed the most wonderful weather - often too hot. Golf marginally improved so will look forward to a round with you both some time in the Summer. Safe drive home. Judi/John

You shouldda called...
Hi there. I wish we'd known where you were and what you weren't doing as Joan and I spent 8 days at a hotel/suite in Tampa. We even spent a dayh at the Hommosassa State Park looking at the manatees and other wildlife there. It would have been great to visit. Oh well... Was the family illness in Canada or Australia? Best wishes, John L

High 'n Dry
Always 'sad' to see a fine yacht hauled out of water - but we can only imagine what she would look like after a summer by herself at the dock. Wishing you better luck next season for 'the crossing'. Love from Jan & Garry
