This museum was amazing. We spent at least 5 hours here and I wish that we could have spent an hour more. There are two huge buildings to explore the main museum and the hanger which houses the air craft that simply wouldn't fit inside the main building. This was a model of the tally board on an aircraft carrier wher marks were made for every enemy pane hit or destroyed

had to take a picture of this Japanese aircraft that was nicknamed George so that I could show it to my brother of the same name

If you visit this museum make sure that you take some time to view this model and see how long it takes you to find the seasick sailor

Bob noticed preparations for a retirement ceremony that was going to happen and thought it would be neat to get some pictures

this part of the ceremony was very moving...a boatswains whistle is blown and it is announced that a shipman is going a shore and then the retiring officer goes between 2 rows of sailors that have served with him a very solemn proceeding until the end is reached and things get less formal as goodbyes are said.
