Day 81 - December 30, 2008
Epcot Day
Today we went to Epcot. First we went to Ellen’s Energy Adventure, then Mission:Space, then Spaceship Earth. We saw “Honey I Shrunk the Audience”, then off we went to Mexico, Norway, China, Germany in half an hour! We watched a wonderfully bright choral show called “Candlelight Processional”. Then we watched “Illuminations”, a fireworks display with a message for a peaceful earth. We continued walking towards Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco, France, UK, and Canada. We didn’t have time to see anymore shows since we started late today, so we planned to come back (either this trip or next time) to see everything! Before we went home, we took the Space Mountain Ride. This is such a cool rollercoaster ride into space in pitch black darkness.
Day 82 - December 31, 2008
Magic Kingdom
This time we woke up early. We went to McDonalds for breakfast then got some sandwiches for lunch from Subway since it's so expensive to buy food inside the parks. We have decided to get Subway sandwiches everyday and bring them inside the parks, a lot cheaper and healthier.
It’s New Year’s eve and we decided
to spend it at Magic Kingdom. We got there and immediately got Fast Passes. We like Fast Pass. There’s nothing like going through snaking loooong lines and bypassing them all. Cinderella’s Castle is awesome! It’s like being transported from the land of reality to the land of fantasy (well, isn’t this what Disneyworld is all about, anyway?).
Skipping and half-running, we proceeded to Disney’s Carousel of Progress, then we rode Tomorrowland Transit Authority which took us around, well, Tomorrowland. Then we watched Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. That was a lotta laughs. We lined up for "Stitch’s Great Escape!" afterwards. We had sooo much fun at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin - Gim got a lot of shooting points here. For lunch we had a turkey leg to go with our Subway sandwich. It was good, but it was huge we barely finished it. Then we watched Belle tell us a Christmas story, then we took the “It’s a Small World” Ride, the “Pirates of the Carribean”, watched Wishes Nightime Spectacular. Then braved the crowd to see the “Spectromagic Parade”, took the Jungle Cruise, visited Mickey’s and Minnie’s Country Houses, and went on Donald’s Boat. Unfortunately, Splash Mountain was closed
already at the time we got there.
We proceeded towards Cinderella’s castle towards midnight. There were so many people! It was riotous, in a happy way. We got free hats, but we weren’t able to get free toy trumpets. We munched on popcorn and glazed almonds. Then waited for the New Year fireworks. It was phenomenal!!! Spending New Year’s at Disneyworld is something everyone should try in one’s lifetime. We were given cups of free hot chocolate with marshmallows and cookies after the fireworks.
We went home in a daze. If this was a dream, please don’t wake us up!
Day 83 - January 1, 2008
Hollywood Studio
We tried waking up early today but that was just not possible. Anyway at least we got to Hollywood Studios at whatever was left of the morning. We first hopped on a tram for a Studio Backlot Tour and got our hearts racing by an earthquake that shakes a fuel truck causing it to explode, followed by a raging flood that almost throws the truck off the canyon. We saw Herbie the Love Bug and other props that have been used in various movies. Then we watched a
younger Indiana Jones in an “Epic Stunt Spectacular”. Then we went to see Miss Piggy in Muppet Vision 3-D.
Afterwards, we saw the incredibly mind-blowing “Lights, Motors, Action! Stunt Show. How we all wish we can drive like those guys! Then we went to see the Journey Into Narnia attraction, which was kinda bo-ring. We saw the heartwarming play Beauty and the Beast, then the fantastic Fantasmic! That was a reaaally great show. Way to go, Mickey! We jumped and clapped with the Block Party Bash. Unfortunately we didn’t have the time to go the Tower of Terror. Can’t have it all, can we.
Day 84 - January 2, 2008
Animal Kingdom & Epcot
We saw a lot of animals today - antelopes, elephants, buffalos, a lion, flamingos, buffalos, giraffe, and a lot, lot more we forgot their names. We joined the Kilimanjaro Safari, took the Pangani Exploration Trail, then watched It’s Tough to be a Bug. It was really cute, that show.
Then we used our Fast Pass to Expedition Everest, the most popular attraction here. Now, that was a wild ride! Whew! We noticed the details Disney has painstakingly
given attention to when making this place, even the trekking stores in Kathmandu and the minor temples in Nepal were pretty much precise. We had so much fun watching Finding Nemo - The Musical. We loved that show. It was marvelous. The costumes were great. Then we watched the Festival of the Lion King. Highly energetic.
We then took the Wildlife Express Train to the Conservation Station. We saw some critters and moles, then proceeded to Affection Section, where we met different kinds of friendly goats. They were kinda smelly, but they were very friendly, they let us pet and brush them. One of the goats had such huge belly that protrudes on each side. Then we went took the train again and took pictures of the Tree of Life.
After Animal Kingdom, we went back to Epcot and queued for 2 hours for the ride Soarin’. It was worth it. The feeling of flying over scenic places was exhilarating.
Sadly, all good things come to an end, and this is the end of our 3-month honeymoon. To all of you who joined us in our travels, we
sincerely hope you enjoyed reading our blog. We hope to take you with us again next time!
Shukran! Khob Krun Krab! Dhanyavaad! Thuk Ji Chhe! Awkun! Terima Kasih! Salamat!
