Our last full day in the Naples area was rainy - but compared to the lack of utlilities and snow and sleet and frozen / snapping tree branches that our relatives in New York and Vermont describe; we feel lucky and really needed a day to do some housekeeping and "work" related projects. We zoomed up to Naples in the afternoon. Our first destination was the Naples Winery in Tin City, where we tasted and bought a few tropical fruity wines. Then over to ultra fancy and beautifully decorated Third Street and it's criss cross of "Avenues." We found some wonderful MacKenzie-Childs items in Zazou at the Third St. Plaza. We were surprised that the Plaza had lost more than half of its upscale tenants since we were there last Christmas. We toaste Naples with Bloodies and shared appetizers at the Dock (coconut shrimp, conch fritters, mini cubano sandwiches). The Dock is our very favorite restaurant in the Naples area. The City Dock is festive for the holidays. We walked out to the end and found a wonderful big sailboat available for overnight charter and a deep sea fishing boat named "Cuda." What luck. Baby ,it's cold outside!
Reading your blog and looking at the "warm" photos has warmed our chilly day. Just got power back last night ,which was lost for over 24 hours! Kept warm with our gas fire place! And some healthy drinks! food from our new gas range! Great to hear from you ,keep the blogs coming!!!
