Our Golf Cart
Thousands moreEven though the air was cold and the wind made it even more uncomfortable, Cory and I ventured south for 1 1/2 hours to the big, Florida Flywheelers Show. I suggested to Cory he might better wear long pants than shorts....nope, he does things his way: shorts was his garb. Me: I had three layers of tops, long pants and mittens. One mistake: I forgot a hat. Soon I would find out I would really need a Russian Fur hat to do the job right.
The Flywheelers show consists of tractors, huge machinery, antique engines and equipment of all vintages. There is an enormous flea market that goes with this display of heavy duty equipment ...so large you rent a golf cart to get around it. Most of the stuff for sale is old, rusted, metal pieces of everything a man likes to look at. I found it better when we passed by the usual collectible items found at most flea markets. Cory was happy to find a couple signs and a yellow dog (cast iron oil well lamp) to add to his collection. I just bought a large, cloth "Yard Sale" flag. Probably will give that to Lory because she
has yard sales more frequently than me. It didn't take Cory long to realize his dress code was completely inappropriate.....only two other men were seen wearing shorts (all with struggling, suffering looks on their faces).....do I have to say "I told you so". We'll just let his shaking body speak for itself. At least, he found an old blanket and small rug in our car that we wrapped around our legs. Lulu took full of advantage to wrap up in them, also...even though she has no legs to cover up. She began her whining so we gave in. Cory bought gloves and I bought a hat. My hat wasn't so much for warmth but more for sun glare. My eyes were watering and blurred before I found the cap with a little visor. It worked! The sun shined brightly but it did nothing to warm the air. I'm sure our North People are making comments about the cold weather down here....and rightly you should. Mother Nature has been a mean, old gal these past two years. She needs a replacement....perhaps "Warm Weather Wilma." Let's trade M.N. in and get someone else! Anything would be better than what has been bestowed

Warm and Riding...cha-ching! upon all of you.....plus we are getting the side effects of your misery. We are paying!! I know you have no sympathy for us (Snowbirds) but we do for you ( North People). Keep reading after quote.....I'm not done yet.?
Okay.....lets get back to the show. Enough whining. Part of the show grounds has an old village set up on it. Various little stores and buildings you can visit. It is quaint. Lulu fell in love with this place especially one building filled with gobs of toys and paraphernalia tossed all around.....just up her alley. She was doing a happy dance (in her own way) through out it. Look at me, Look at me....she screamed all the way around each corner. Show-Off. About
3:30 PM, we decided we had frozen off our whiskers long enough....time to head home. It was convenient to drive the golf cart right to our car to unload. I've decided....this is the way to travel through all these shows we have been attending. My legs won't be worn down to nubs anymore. I hope you liked riding along with us. You had a plus on your side: not being outside in the cold, winter's air.....unless you are sitting
