Our excursions have begun. They seem to be centered mostly around food. Yesterday, Cory & I went to the Noodle Company restaurant. We travel through Disney grounds to get there. It is truly like a fantasyland we are now living in. So awesome. Disneyworld is only about 5 minutes away.? Imagine living in Disney's backyard! Well, we are!! What an extreme from home. We live near the Genesee River there (one of the few rivers that flow from the south to the north). The noodle restaurant is one of my very favorites. Every kind of noodle dish you can possibly want..plus more. Now they list the calorie count under each dish...vegan and not. My big bowl of penne rosa (vegan style) was only 520 cals. It was even too much to eat and boy, was it delish! Be sure to check this restaurant out if you come across one ( it is a chain). Lulu loved it there and decided to take a brief swim at a swimming hole outside the restaurant. Oodles of Noodles and Oodles of Fun.
Sam & Sandy returned from a 2-day reunion with their RV caravan friends. They have shown us their photos and told
us all about the RV caravans they have gone on. They all sound like so much fun. And the sights and activites they see and do......fantastic. Someday, we shall definitely sign up for a caravan adventure.
Today was shopping day. First stop: Wal-Mart. I love Wal-Mart! I returned one of my many Ipad chargers that we purchased on our way down. I still have plenty so no problem with this return. On to "The Loop". This is a huge shopping area with all the many stores you can think of: Bealles, Penneys, BJ's, Sport's Authority and many, many more. They are all there. Sandy and I shot in and out of several of the stores, making purchases along the way. Cory & Sam remained in the car.....conjuring up teasing pranks to test us when we got back to the car. They got us good. Devil Boys! Their time is coming. They better stay alert. Payback is such sweet revenge. Now what.....eat lunch or get a snack and eat supper later? The vote was for the snack and supper. We came back to our RV's to drop our goodies off & bag up a few snacks and drinks. We piled back
in the car and drove to one of our very favorite places: Cherry Pocket. It's an old fish camp restaurant way out on some bayou. Last year, the guys, who ALWAYS ordered the grouper had the shock of their lives. They still haven't recovered. It's bad! Their fabulous grouper meals turned out not to be grouper but a Basa fish that comes out the polluted waters of Vietnam. Not even a full bottle of Listerine could cleanse their systems. The place is still fun...a truly rustic atmosphere....and that's putting nicely. As you can see, Lulu loves it as much as we do. Cory and Sam sadly switched their orders to shrimp and catfish. Still very, very good. Since we were at a late lunch/early dinner schedule, we had time to take a tour of Lake Wales. Top of the bucket list was Spook Hill. It is a hill that gives you the illusion that you are rolling up hill when your car is in neutral. Well, we drove around and around and around, trying to locate it. Finally, after traveling every inch of Lake Wales, we found it. A big sign gave you the history of the hill and the
Happy at Cherry Pocket
What to order.....Lulu wants to be a wItress instructions to follow so you could have this fantastic experience. We were so excited...almost panting in anticipation. I even had my video running. This was going to be something. We did just as it said and what? NO! We only rolled backwards. What's wrong? Sam thought he felt the sensation but he always sees the glass half full. The rest us just sat there in a dump state. Cory even turned the car around and tried it that way. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! No movement. No sensation. No thrills. No illusion. Notta! Sandy googled it and read the reviews. One person said the same thing happened to him......nothing! At least, it wasn't us. Sam said they did this hill 30 years ago and it was great. They were in awe and loved it! Must be the years have taken a tole on the hill and the magic spell has floated away. Something serious has occurred. After driving around for over an hour and sitting on the edge of our seats on this barren hill eagerly waiting and waiting for the super big thrill (that never came).......we concluded our tourist trail. We may have to "find our thrill on blueberry hill", instead. And
All gathered together
A tad blurry...not your eyes that concludes my blog for tonight. All that anticipated excitement looking for Spook Hill tired us out. We each crawled into our RV's and flopped. Time to rest up for another day in paradise! Actually, some of my shopping today included looking for a jacket to buy. We are far from steamy sweat days down here right now. We are bundled up. I know I shouldn't say anything compared to all our Northern family and friends. Brrrrrrrrrrrr. My lips are sewn shut now except to say "Good-Night"....it came out Gooooeye with my lips shut. That sounds repulsive. So now I am just waving good-bye to you.??????
