Guess I didn’t get right back on this horse like I planned. Our quiet days are limited. It’s tricky to write the blog while we are living the blog. Stay on that broken time machine cause it will continue to take you through our adventures: past & present.
Back in the beginning of February, everyone’s friend here at the park, Joe Rossi, took all of us to the horse races down at the Veranda building. This is a very popular, annual event that he arranges and presents. As you can see from the photos, everyone enjoyed themselves .....win or loose. Cory and I didn’t win any or the horse races but we each won a coupon for a free Flipper’s pizza from the silent auction. Yummy. We’ll use them in April when some of family comes down for a visit. ?????When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie - That's amore???? Lulu is drooling already. She loves pizza even though it’s tricky for her to eat (you know why....no hands). She just lays her head on the table and takes a deep breath...drawing the pizza close and into her mouth. Clever lady!
Speaking of food, there
is always time for dinner! One journey for our foursome took us to Gator’s Dockside. Of course, I ordered ‘gator bites. Delish! Tastes like chicken. Cory ordered a combo of various delicacies. Sandy was almost eaten by a huge alligator but she fought it off. She’s a tough gal!
Another evening, we chowed down at Manny’s. You can never go wrong here no matter what you order. Their specialty is steak. They make your scrumptious salad at table side. Their fluffy yeast rolls are the ultimate. Wear stretchy pants when you go here.
Cory & I visited an Applebee’s. We usually don’t go to one down here cause that is one of a few choices of nice restaurants at home ( 30 miles away, though). They had some tasty drinks on sale so Cory and I had to try them .... or both of them. Mine was extra tasty: a Bahama Mama. Oh, Mama!
We enjoyed the opportunity to take Walt & Diane out to dinner. They were so kind and accommodating to watched over our motor home while we were on our cruise. We went to Cheddar’s. Great food made from scratch. We made the common
mistake of ordering there delicious, huge stack of onion rings first. Trying to squish our actual meals down was a challenge. I almost needed a wheel barrel to carry my big stomach in out to the car. Thank you for your kindness, Walt & Diane.
Recently, our hungry foursome thought we were finally ready to go to “The Trough”....aka: The Golden Corral. You have to have a shrunken, starving stomach to go here. There are so many choices of so much food that your saliva glands are squirting all over the place! Your eyes are super huge taking it all in. Your stomach starts stretching to accommodate the mother-load you are about to devour. Then you feel horrible: fat and sick! But during the consumption process, it is wonderful. I try to take just a sample of some of their exquisite cuisine but still end up with about three plates of goodness ( including dessert). I feel like the Hindenburg blimp when I exit this feed trough! Lulu is lucky (no stomach).
One day, as we cruising around, our foursome drove through the current construction of the new mega world of Margaritaville being built on route 192. It
Cheers to Paulie & Ray
Happy Birthday, Paulie is going to be awesome and ginormous. Their hotel is open but we didn’t go in. I borrowed a couple pictures of the interior for your perusal. Folks are already living in some of the completed homes and apartments....amongst those still in the making. A couple restaurants are open. It will include a gigantic water park. There will be a big shopping arcade plus so much more. Awesome!
????Nibblin' on sponge cake
Watchin' the sun bake
All of those tourists covered with oil
Strummin' my six string on my front porch swing
Smell those shrimp they're beginnin' to boil
Wastin' away again in Margaritaville????
One of the restaurants that will soon open in Margaritaville is called Ford’s Garage. We found another one in our area so had to check it out! If you are a Ford fan, you will love this place. You’ll still love it even if you aren’t. When you are there...make sure you visit the restroom even if you don’t need to. The decor is great! Their servings are BIG, BIG,BIG! You might even want to think of “sharing” your order! We are a Ford family so Cory loved this
place. Sam thought it was neat also. This restaurant is located in the area of the Prime Outlet Mall. FYI!
Hey....when I showed you all the friends we had seen lately, I forgot to add one. How could I have forgotten this special guy? A senior moment, for sure. Here is Jon Gibson in his fancy 1957 Chevy. Pretty snazzy, huh? The car! Well, I guess Jon, too. He likes that acknowledgment. Jon is a great guy. Lulu really loves him! She keeps hoping he’ll give her a ride in his “baby” so she can sit up close to him and act real cool. Such a hound dog she can be at times. Jon is a very talented and skilled fellow. He was going to do our levelers until he had to go back home for awhile. He is always there to advise and help others. He’s a good friend. His lovely wife, Linda, is a sweetheart. She is so gracious and generous. At home, she works to prevent and investigate animal cruelty. Praises to her. We need more people like her! She makes a difference in this world.....especially for those sad animals that can’t speak for themselves.
More to chat about but that’s for another day. You and me both can only take just so much....right? So stay around and we’ll catch up with one another soon. Toot-a-loo to you!
