THE FLORIDA KEYS
Hundreds of little islands and coves! Booked out of our little apartment this morning and headed down The Keys early for lunch, great trip down, lovely lunch at Wahoos on the water in Islamorada between Key Largo and Key West - such a gorgeous spot on the water overlooking a little marina with the resident pelicans giving us a little show. Then drove back up to Fort Lauderdale to book into our Hilton Hotel, its about 400 metres from the ship terminal so just sit back and relax tonight, John taken our car back to Airport, so all set. Very nice the Hilton lady gave us an upgrade to a water view room and gave us a complimentary coupon for internet, so there are some lovely people around! We have officially driven 3,187 miles 5,099 klms, John has done an absolutely wonderful job with the driving - and not ONE spit the dummy!!! The blood pressure pills must be working, ha ha! All in all its been great driving through Route 10 in the US - except for the snow storms in Texas - looking forward to relaxing on the ship now. Took a leisurely stroll out last night, the weather is so balmy, just beautiful -
LUNCHTIME
Our stop for lunch! took in an Italian meal at a local restaurant. Saw our ship coming into port early hours of this morning (31/1/2015) - it is quite a bit larger than any other Princess we have been on - this one holds about 3,000 people whereas previously been around 1900-2000 - it is a hive of activity over there - loading all he food and goods for the trip south from here. Will post in a few days when we will be down in the Carribean.
