We were flying home from Florida on Monday May 11, 2009. We high above the clouds around 2 PM when the pilot announced that the Shuttle had just taken off from Cape Canaveral and we could see it from the right side of the plane. We were sitting on the right side and looked out to see the hugh white plume and at the end of the plume was the shuttle. We saw it and its bright orange/red engine flame. What a sight! I think we were the only plane in the area, at least I did not see any others. This may be the last shuttle flight and seeing the launch from 30,000 or so feet was a thrill.
