Washington, DC -In the midst of Pope-mania Arriving in Washington, DC we didn't know whether we were lucky or not. Pope Francis was arriving the following day to meet the president -roads were going to be closed, access to some of the sights were going to be limited. The whole event was kind of a big deal. Indeed, they were all very tasty and fulfilling the first few times round. Plus it was really easy finding a veggie burger. During our 5 weeks though we had 1 too many of these meals ? and P certainly lost her appetite for them.

Glad you enjoyed D.C.-- so many things to see outside and many are free. It is a fantastic city.

It really does. We loved the feel of it too, very relaxed with runners, dog walkers (minus the mania that came withe the Pope's visit) etc. We only covered 2 musuems in our couple of days there but could have easily spent a week more exploring.

Great visit!
Sounds like a fantastic visit--how perfect that you missed the big snow storms that must have happened just after you left. I love it that the guy gave you free fries when he heard you were visitors--a proper welcome! I once spent a couple of weeks in DC--I'm a museum hound, so it was incredible. Love your creative photos of the Washington Monument, and the race for the Pope. Here in Bolivia, I've been out of wifi range, which will continue, but I'm so glad I got to see that you're enjoying your time in the US!

Great visit
We were very lucky. The weather could not have been more glorious during our stay. We love how welcoming people always were to us in the states, it had a real sense of hospitality to its visitors. We're currently in Peru (not always with the best connection either). We're hoping to enter Bolivia in about 10 days. You will have to let us know where you will be so we can meet up ?
