Daffodils in bloom next to the Mall.
Dear Reader,

Lately, I am beginning to notice a few subtle signs that spring will soon be here. These signs include the greening of the grass on the Mall, blooming of daffodils in their beds, and sightings of a few early cherry blossoms. It is a delight to witness as each day brings some new evidence that glorious spring is on the way.

In DC this past winter (2010/11) was a mild one. Unlike others parts of the country snow fell only 2 or 3 times. The snow never lasted very long and we never got more than an inch of snow at most. Oh, it has been cold. It can still get down below freezing at night. But, no snowmaggedon at least not this winter.

This is my last blog entry as Swiss Chris. Please look for my new blog on this same site. My new name is Peace Corps Chris to reflect my new mission as a Peace Corps volunteer to Ukraine.
