We live (lucky people) on a small lake in Connecticut with several oak trees round our house. We have had lots and lots of rain for the past several weeks. Yesterday afternoon, during an exceptionally heavy downpour, I heard a big crash. There used to be two big oak trees between me and the lake. Now there is one. The second oak tree is now in the lake. Fortunately, the water near the shoreline is very shallow, so most of the tree is above water.

What has all this to do with a sailing trip? Simply that it will take me a few days to make the necessary arrangements to get the tree removed from the lake and carted away, so we will not be able to go down and work on Pavane until sometime next week. Stay tuned. I will write another entry once we are aboard.
